History
Autumn Term
Children will be learning about changes within living memory. We will be looking at how the high street has changed from when our parents, grandparents and great grandparents were young and how technology has made shopping easier. We will be thinking about how domestic life, clothes, transport, communication methods, toys and books, food and music have changed over time.
Spring Term
Children will be learning about Kings, Queens and castles. We will be thinking about how we can find out about the past and when key Kings and Queens lived in time. We will be learning about why monarchs built castles. Some of the key Monarchs that we will be looking at are Queen Elizabeth 1st, Queen Victoria, King William 1st and Queen Elizabeth 2nd.
Summer Term
Children will be learning about the explorers Christopher Columbus and Scott of the Antarctic. We will be thinking about what made them famous, what happened on their journey, why they risked their lives and we will be comparing travel then and now.
