This year, the children will be learning new grammatical features, expanding their vocabulary, improving their spelling and learning spelling rules, learning how to write in different genres and edit, revise and publish pieces of work.
You can help your child by encouraging them to write an any given opportunity at home with neat, joined handwriting and making sure they spell the words they know correctly.
Challenge them by asking them write a range of different sentence types or using various sentence starters. Remind them to check their work over (especially for those missed capital letters!).
