Autumn Term

In Art we will be learning about Henri Matisse. We will be researching his life, experimenting with mixing colours, making cut out shapes, experimenting with lines and curves and creating their own piece inspired by Henri Matisse. 

Spring Term

In Spring term, children will be learning about the artist Barbra Hepworth. They will be researching her life and creating drawings and sculptures using lines and curves. 

Summer Term

In Summer term, children will be learning about Alfred Wallis. We will research his life and create observational drawings and paintings using watercolour.  Our final piece of art will be a seascape.

Autumn Term

In Autumn term we will be making an autumn fruit and vegetable salad. We will learn about healthy foods and nutrition, learn about food hygiene, how to safely cut, and how to evaluate our final product. 

Spring Term

In Spring Term, we will be learning about how to make moving cards. We will research pop up cards, look at the mechanism, design and make pop up and moving cards and evaluate our cards. 

Summer Term

In summer term, we will be constructing a free-standing bridge. We will plan, choose suitable tools, think of ways of making our bridge stronger and explore mechanisms such as levers, sliders and wheels that some bridges use.
