Geography
Autumn Term
Children will be learning about maps and creating maps of the school and the grounds. We will learn that maps are 2 dimensional and that maps contain keys. We will learn about human and physical features on a map and how to use a compass.
Spring Term
In Spring term, children will be learning about their local area. We will learn about what a settlement is and find out about the difference is between a village and a town. We will be finding out about local urban and rural areas.
Summer term
In Summer term, children will be learning about water, weather and climate. They will learn that there are 12 months in the year and 4 seasons in the UK. We will learn about different types of weather and what the weather is typically like in each season. We will learn about the equator and why different parts of the world have different climates. We will learn about some of the extreme places on earth such as the desert, poles and rainforests.
