Get ready for World Book Day 2021 - Thursday 4th March

After half term, my days in school are changing to Monday, Tuesday and Friday. This means our meeting days will change. The time will still be 2.15pm and you'll see the notification on your calendar.

Missing you lots,

Love, Miss Wood

Follow the link below to access Mrs McAvan's assembly each week

Look what arrived in the post this morning! Cheeky felt tips have forgotten how to spell since they quit the classroom! I look forward to seeing them on Tuesday

This week we are celebrating Children's Mental Health Week. You'll see an activity for each day posted on the daily page. I'm looking forward to Friday's Dress to Express day!

Morning everyone,

I hope you're well.

I've added a quiz to Google Classroom for you to complete. It's about wellbeing and emotions and you'll get 100 points for completing it. Of course, it's really normal to feel a big mix of emotions over the course of the week so you might have felt every single one! or you might just have certain ones that you feel are most present in your life right now.

Have a great day,

Miss Wood

Following feedback from meetings today, I've made accessing afternoon learning a bit easier - in separate tabs. Some of you said you wanted more afternoon learning so I have responded to this too by beginning our next topic: Water.

As we've said all along: do what you can but do not worry about missing anything: we can bring you up to speed when back at school.

Most important is getting the morning learning done and also getting some exercise each day.

(Please note: this is a work in progress so some of these tabs will still be empty on Friday morning - your RE learning for the day will be there)

Here it is. Our wonderful story. The Secret of Black Rock.

Part 1

Part 2

Hello children,

I hope you are all well. Your Head Boy a has set a joke challenge. See his video here

https://www.st-johns-keele.staffs.sch.uk/joke-of-the-week/

This week it's the turn of Opal and Sapphire class - so it's like you're telling them to your buddies. Choose your favourite joke (just 1 please) and send us a video before Wednesday 20th January. We will put them all together at the end of next week.

A special secret!!!

Your grown ups have been busy reading stories for you. A new story will be posted each day for you to listen to at home as a family.

Click on the link below to listen to today's story.

I wonder who it will be tomorrow...

Welcome to this weeks home learning. Everything you need is in the tabs below.

Check out the FAQs page for the suggested timetable for the week.

On the daily tab you will find learning for English, Writing and Maths each day

Under those you will find tabs for afternoon learning: Topic, PSHCE and RE.

I hope you've had a lovely weekend and can't wait to see you all on Google Meet.

Miss Wood :)

Notice to parents:

I hope you and your children are well and managing from home.

In preparation for next week, I have created an FAQs page below and will continue adding to this where necessary.

Miss Wood

Hello Class 6,

I hope you have had a restful Christmas break and Happy New Year to you all. Mrs Shaw and I were really looking forward to seeing you and hearing about what you have been up to. I hope you got chance to play in the snow. I DID! I'll attach a photo of Frosty and Snowy the dog who took pride of place on the front lawn. Please do send in Christmas/snow photos so I can see your smiles.

Now we will not be able to see you in person but we are working hard on preparing for online lessons so we can see each other virtually. I'm in school teaching key worker children this week so online lessons will start on Monday. I will post further information about the logistics of timetable etc. on Friday morning so that you an email me if you have any questions.

Missing you already!

Miss Wood

Frosty and Snowy

Happy Monday everyone,

It’s Children’s Mental Health week this week and each day there will be an activity suggestion based on the EXPRESS YOURSELF theme. Take photos and then send a pic collage or album of what you’ve done each day of the week on Friday.

Missing you lots!!

Miss Wood and Mrs Shaw
