What happens and when?
Our P.E days are Wednesday p.m. and Friday a.m. Please ensure your child has the correct kit in school at all times. Thank you.
This year the children will have a Spelling booklet containing the whole year's spelling lists. Each week, usually on a Tuesday, there will be a spelling test according to the week of the term. The booklet can be viewed at the end of this article.
Homework is set on a Wednesday and should be returned the following Monday to be marked.
Multiplication tables to 12 x 12 (and corresponding division) are a key focus in Year 4 and are tested on a Friday.
Reading regularly is extremely important for children's progress in reading comprehension, vocabulary building and writing. We expect children to read at least 3 times per week, with or without an adult. Please ensure either your child, or an adult, records all reading in the diary; then an adult signs the page. Any reading is great, it doesn't have to be a book from school! All children who have read at least three times over the week are entered into a prize draw, during Friday's Celebration Assembly, the following week.
MyMaths.co.uk is a great resource to help children with their maths skills. It has lots of fun lessons and games which are often set as homework but feel free to have a go at any activity of your choice. You can also retry activities as the questions are different each time!

As well as continuing to learn our times tables, we are now focusing on division facts.
Currently, children need to learn the 2,3,4 & 5 division facts.
2 divided by 1 = 2, 4 divided by 2 = 2, 6 divided by 2 = 3 etc.
