Welcome to Year 3!

smiley Hello and Welcome to Class 3's Page! smiley

Our Class Teachers are Mrs Jowitt and Mrs Winstone.
Mrs Hill is our teaching assistant from Monday to Thursday. Mrs Bowler is our Teaching Assistant on a Friday morning and also accompanies us when we go swimming (Spring and Summer Term) on a Monday.

Reading is very important in Class 3 and we have been enjoying the new reading corner, reading for pleasure.

In  Class 3 we do lots of fun things and this is when we do them.

In the Autumn Term P.E. is on a Tuesday and Friday.

~ we need an indoor P.E. kit consisting of a white t-shirt, black shorts and black pumps or trainers.

~ we need an outdoor P.E. kit consisting of jogging bottoms, trainers, t-shirt and warm top.

~ earrings need to be removed.

Swimming Lessons

In the Spring and Summer Term, we will go swimming on a Monday morning. This will replace Tuesday's P.E. session from the Autumn Term. We will need a swimming bag brought to school every Monday, consisting of a swimming costume or trunks (not knee length) and a towel. Children with long hair will need to have a swimming cap. Please ensure your child always brings their coat to school on a Monday as this will be needed to and from the baths.

Home Projects

During the Autumn term, this will be based on our topic ‘Go Wild' and will focus on an endangered animal. The children are encouraged to choose how they wish to present their home project and this can range from using ICT skills, to creating models or even comic strips; whatever engages your child to learn. These will be due to be brought into school during the first week back after the half-term holiday.

MyMaths is a great resource to help children with their maths skills. It has lots of fun lessons and games which are often set as homework but feel free to have a go at any activity of your choice. You can also retry activities as the questions are different each time!

If you have lost your log-on, please let Mrs Jowitt or Mrs Winstone know.

It is important children learn the times tables and also can recall the division equivalent. In Class 3, children will be learning and recalling the facts for x2, x3 ,x4 ,x5 ,x8 and x10. To help your child with this, here are some times tables websites that can support their learning.
