Welcome to Year 2!
Hello Class 2!
As we talked about last week, school is going to be a bit different for a while until the Government decide it's safe for us all to come back together again.
I will be posting work on this page for you to do each day at home. Please try your best with it, just as you would in class. This is also a good time to do lots of reading, look back at spelling patterns in your spelling log and find information about things you want to learn about or even learn a new skill.
Even though completing your work is important to keep you learning, staying happy and healthy is too. Use this time to do things with your family at home. This might be cooking, exercising, playing games or just relaxing!
I will miss teaching you all over the weeks ahead but I am already looking forward to welcoming you all back as soon as possible.
Your mums and dads know how to get in touch with me at school if you need anything. Feel free to email in a photograph of any work you are particularly proud of!
Try your best and have fun!
Class Routines for 2019-2020
Spellings will be tested on a Wednesday. Please see your child's Spelling Log for their current spellings.
Homework will alternate between Maths and English with the occasional topic-based piece. This will be sent out on a Wednesday and is due the following Monday.
In Year 2 children are required to know the 2, 5 and 10 times tables well. There will be short checks on these each Monday.
P.E days are Mondays and Tuesdays . Please ensure labelled P.E kit is in school at all times.
Diaries will be checked daily by Mrs Meredith and reading books will usually be changed as and when required. As children are not issued with the clear plastic book bags in Year 2 they will need to bring their diary and reading book from the cloakroom in a red book bag or similar.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to come into school and speak with me. You are always welcome!
MyMaths.co.uk is a great resource to help children with their maths skills. It has lots of fun lessons and games which are often set as homework but feel free to have a go at any activity of your choice. You can also retry activities as the questions are different each time!

If you have lost your log in, let Mr Rogalski know.
