How many spiky things can you find in your home?

Phonics

We are continuing with Phase 4 of our Phonics learning.

If your child can recognise most of all the Phase 2/3 sounds and read the Phase 2 and 3 tricky words then they are ready for Phase 4.

If you feel that your child still needs more practise with Phase2/3 please re-visit the previous weeks learning and try some other games on the suggested websites on our front class page.

It's very important to keep practising our phonemes and tricky words in different ways.

Practise makes better! Play the games below. Have fun!

Kim at Espresso is going to help us to practise reading CCVC words.

You say this sentence and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words and sound out each word.

 

 

The  spoon  is  in  the  cup.

 

Challenge 1 - if your child can write this sentence easily add in some describing words e.g. The wooden spoon is in the cup.

Challenge 2 - Can they write another sentence about the spoon or cup?

Fun activity

Draw a big dinosaur footprint. You could chalk it on the ground or draw it on a big piece of paper/newspaper...the bigger the better!

Now draw around your foot on a piece of card and cut it out. How many of your feet are as long as the dinosaur foot print?
