Hello everyone!
Hope you are all well and staying safe at home!
Don't forget to send in a joke for the Head Boy's Joke challenge...we all need a bit of a laugh at the moment!
Have you seen Eloisa's Lego animal challenge as well?
Have a look on the Head boy and Head girl's page to find out more.
Challenge of the Day!
Draw a plate with your favourite food on it. Why do you like them?
Phonics
We are now starting Phase 4 of our Phonics learning.
If your child can recognise most of all the Phase 2/3 sounds and read the Phase 2 and 3 tricky words then they are ready for Phase 4.
If you feel that your child still needs more practise with Phase2/3 please re-visit the previous weeks learning and try some other games on the suggested websites on our front class page.
Phase 4 phonics lasts at least 4 to 6 weeks and teaches children to blend and segment longer words with adjacent consonants.
CCVC, CVCC, CCVC, CCVCC, CCCVC and CCCVCCC words.
You say this sentence and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words and sound out each word.
The lamp is bright.
Challenge 1 - if your child can write this sentence easily add in some describing words e.g. The short lamp is bright.
Challenge 2 - Can they write another sentence about the lamp?
Maths
I have hopefully sent everyone login details for Ten Town!
This is a numbers scheme which helps children to recognise numbers 1 - 20 through a range of characters. It also has a lot of games and challenges that cover the mathematical, shape, space and measure learning concepts which they will learn this year.
I ask that you use this program as your child's maths homework for this year.
Even though they will already be able to recognise the first numbers the scheme will help your child to consolidate the teen numbers 11 - 20.
I am asking everyone to start at Number 1 and then work through the levels at your own pace.
Have fun and please let me know how you get on!
