Good Morning Ruby Class!
Are you ready for another day of home learning? Now, I would like to start today a little bit differently! Find out more in your Thursday morning message...
I know that you have all been working so hard with all of your lessons this week and I have been so impressed with everything I have seen... you should all be very, very proud of yourselves! But learning new things can be tough! And it is important that we all take a little bit of time to relax and be mindful (including our adults, so get them involved too!) ...
English
Learning Objective: I can plan a shape poem.
Today, we will be planning our shape poems! How exciting!
By now, you should all have your templates ready. All of the templates that I have seen so far are excellent, well done everyone! You have thought really carefully about how your shape poems will look and have ensured that there will be enough room for your writing either inside or around your template. Now, we need to focus on what our shape poems will say. Watch this video to find out more and plan your own shape poem as we go along... You will need your pencil and paper!
Maths
Learning Objective: I can add by counting on.
We have begun our new topic 'Addition and Subtraction' and began, yesterday, with counting on. As promised, we will be looking at this in more detail in today's lesson. Take a look at this video to find out more...
Activity
There are two worksheets for you to complete. To work out the answer to each question you will need to 'count on'. Don't forget, you can use your number line to do this!
Phonics
Learning Objective: I am learning about long vowels.
Today, we will continue to learn about long vowels. If you need a recap of what we mean by long vowels, head back to the Alphablocks video from yesterday...
Activities
Just like yesterday, I would like you to practice reading and writing the long 'e', 'i' and 'o' sounds by completing these worksheets... Don't forget, you can complete the reading tasks orally with an adult or sibling then write directly into your exercise books.
PE
Learning Objective: I can move my body in different ways in response to music.
Let's head back to BBC Teach for another dance lesson! Just follow this link... https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/school-radio/ks1-dance-lets-move-snow-world-make-a-snowman/zkk6kmn
Today, you will have lots of fun in the snow! You will walk through it, throw it in the air, make snowballs and build a snowman! Unfortunately, this is our last session on BBC Teach! I know how much you have all enjoyed it so let's show off our moves!
