Challenge of the day!

Can you make a marble run using a cardboard base and folded newspaper?

Please post your efforts on Tapestry.

We are continuing with Phase 4 of our Phonics learning.

If your child can recognise most of all the Phase 2/3 sounds and read the Phase 2 and 3 tricky words then they are ready for Phase 4.

If you feel that your child still needs more practise with Phase2/3 please re-visit the previous weeks learning and try some other games on the suggested websites on our front class page.

How many of the first 100 words can your child read.

Tick off the ones they know and practise the ones they don't!

You say this sentence and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words and sound out each word.

Some  dogs  have  black  spots.

Challenge 1 - if your child can write this sentence easily add in some describing words e.g. Some dogs have...

Challenge 2 - Can they write another sentence about dogs?

Let's Get Fit | Version 3 | Count to 100 | Exercises for Kids | 100 Days of School | Jack Hartmann

Your favorite count to 100 by ones song, with new exercises that are great for the classroom or at physical education. I consulted with physical education teachers in developing this new count to 100 song.

This count to 100 song includes some creative and fun new exercises and some physical education positions that are required in PE. I have included cross lateral movements that are so important for body and brain connections and improved brain coordination. Studies have linked increased academic performance to cross lateral movements.

3D Shapes Song | Shapes for kids | The Singing Walrus

Help your child to recognise 3D shape names - encourage them to sing back in the song.

Copy the sentences under the pictures.

Then cut and order the pictures.

  • Buzz flies high over the bed.
  • Woody and Buzz are now good friends!
  • The toys like Buzz.
  • Woody is Andy’s favorite toy.
  • Woody is angry with Buzz.
  • Buzz is Andy’s new toy.

I can construct with a purpose in mind using a variety of resources.

Mrs Hill has been co-ordinating our RE planning this term.

Click on the RE cross icon on our front page, week 6, and have a look.

Please talk with your child about the pictures/slides and it would be great to see your drawings and work on Tapestry.
