I am learning about Lent and what it means to Christians

We are now on week 3 of Lent which started with Ash Wednesday

Lent is the period of six weeks (40 days not including Sundays) leading up to Easter, the most important festival in the Christian calendar. Mothering Sunday falls in week 4.

Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The last week of Lent is called Holy Week.

Week 3 - Bread

Jesus said to them, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever come to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.' JOHN 6.35

Lent is a significant season in the year for Christians – a time of solemnity and self-reflection where they confess their failings and resolve to live a more godly life based on the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We have read many stories of the miracles of Jesus.

He teaches us to be good, kind, honest people and to spread those things to those around us like his disciples spread the word of God to all they met.

We are looking at #LIVELENT Care for Gods Creations book which is a 40-Day Challenge for kids.

Week 3 is Land and Plants. Take a look at the pictures below and see if you can complete any of these tasks.

Prayer for the week

Loving father, we praise you for the beauty and plenty of nature. Help us to do all we can to protect plants and trees and to tread more gently on the earth.

40 Acts of Kindness

You can also complete these sheets if you wish.

Our Daily Bread for Kids

365 meaningful moments with God.

Each week I'm going to be posting pages from the above book.

Here's this weeks.
