Race for life - Friday 10th - Monday 13th July

Race for life - Friday 10th - Monday 13th July 1

Our Head Girl Emily and Mrs Egan, alongside the school council, had planned to organise for St John's to take part in this year's Race For Life.

So all of the family can take part, we've set the dates for Friday 10th - Monday 13th July but you can join in anytime before this if you wish.

Emily will still be completing this and would like you to take part too. There are lots of ways for you to donate to Cancer Research and every donation counts - no matter how much you are able to give.

Emily's fundraising page:

For the past 3 years I have taken part in Race for life with my mum and sister. This year, as Head Girl at my school, I was organising alongside the deputy Head Girl for the whole school to take part in Race for life and raise money for Cancer Research. Due to Covid 19, we are unable to do this in school but I have decided that I don’t want this to stop us!!

I asked my Head Teacher and Class teacher if we could take part from our own homes and we will now be completing a 1-5 k walk or run with our families!
Please help us to raise some money for this amazing charity as they will be loosing out on so much of their usual donations this year!
Thank you on behalf of everyone in our school!

If you and your family do take part, please send us some photographs (add your distance and time too if you're happy to share) - we will add them to an album on this page.

What a talented bunch we have at St John's. Entries have included, singing dancing, dog-handling, playing instruments, baking and more. Well done to everyone who entered.

The Y6 judging panel have watched the videos and they loved them all. From the array of talent, it was very hard to choose the winners with all 4 students deciding on different acts and a lot of shortlisted entries were given.

Charlie, our Head Boy, has made the final decision and is pleased to announce the winners as follows:

Head Girl Challenge!

Your Head Girl, Emily, has set the children, staff and parents of St. John's a challenge.  The challenge consists of 3 types of press ups.  You do each one 10 times, then each one 9 times, then 8 and so on until you finish with one of each.  That's 165 press ups in total!! Click the link to see and abridged video of Emily in action.  Can you complete the challenge? Can you do it faster than Emily? Good luck might just need it!

Emily and her family have been busy over the Easter holidays creating a Team Building Challenge. You might want to try it this week or at the weekend. Let us know if you have a go - we can post pictures and short videos on this page.

If you succeed in the challenge, send your name & time (and video if you dare) in to  and we can put together a leader board.
