Friday 5th June

Good afternoon everyone,

I hope you've had a great Friday. I've been practising the Active June challenges this morning. I didn't fancy the jog so I repeated every Gold challenge for Mon-Thursday and enjoyed it.

Today we read the last chapter of Journey to Jo'burg. I know lots of you have commented on how you have enjoyed the book. I must say, I feel that this topic has been unfortunately but aptly placed given the news about the events happening in America and, therefore, around the globe. #blacklivesmatter

I hope this book has helped you to further empathise with and understand the need for equal right and opportunities for all. Unfortunately, racism is still affecting people and we cannot ignore it or think it has gone away. When listening to the radio earlier this week one of the presenters said: "This is a matter for everyone, we all have a part to play in making a difference." I know you will join me in agreeing and I hope reading this book has made you think about the part you can play in continuing to make the world a better place.

Well done to Beth and Jake who have been awarded a certificate this week.

Finally, I have a message for you and your parents from Mrs McAvan:

Due to the re-introduction of some year groups and the majority of teaching staff being involved with these bubbles, we are changing the home learning routine.  Work will now be posted on a FRIDAY for the following week, along with answers.  A Monday message will be posted and a Friday message too.  Please keep sending in work, photos and videos and we will upload them as soon as we can. Thank you for your support and understanding.

This will mean things look just slightly different on the webpages next week but I've tried to keep things as 'normal' as possible. Just don't be tempted to access those answers until you've finished!

Have a great weekend and keep in touch,

Miss Wood

Good morning.

Check out the link below to see our latest staff video for today's launch of the summer reading challenge.

J2J - The final chapter

In English today, you'll be finishing your space story. I've loved seeing the illustrations and plans you have been making. Please do send me the final thing to read. I will look forward to it.

Friday Maths:

Well done, you’ve completed all your learning on angles and now it’s time to check what you know and remember.

Log in to MyMaths and complete the activity using everything you have learned.

I can't wait to see how you've done later
