Friday 5th June

Happy Friday!

We played with salt dough yesterday and today we are going to paint it. My grandad made a mud kitchen for my little boy over half term so we have made him a handprint salt dough decoration that we are going to paint and post to him over the weekend. Have you made anything recently? I enjoy nothing more than being crafty and trying new things.

Below is the link to our reading challenge. It also has our latest staff clip for you to watch. It would be fantastic if you could take part.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Take care,

Miss Hickman

Maths

Objective – I can solve time problems.

Hopefully by now you are confident telling the time to the nearest hour and half hour. You will get better and better the more you practice. Today we are going to try some reasoning and problem solving problems using what you have learnt this week. Try each of the problems yourself before asking for help (it’s ok if someone reads the problem for you). Remember, if it says ‘explain why’ or ‘prove it’ you will need to try a sentence as part of your answer.

Task – Try the reasoning and problem solving challenges below.

Challenge – Have fun playing the ‘telling the time’ board game with someone at home.

English

Today is slightly different because you have a choice which English task you do. You can either

  • write a post card to someone different about your imagined holiday
  • write another diary entry describing more of your holiday or your journey back
  • a letter to a friend to talk about your imagined holiday

Phonics

Today is our final lesson learning how to read and write 'tch' words.
