Friday 5th February

Please let us know what you have been up to by posting on Tapestry and emailing your 'Dress up' photos to the class email.

Billy Ocean, The Young Voices Choir - Lovely Day (Official Audio) ft. YolanDa Brown, Ruti

Let's feel good listening to this song. It's going to be a lovely day.

Challenge of the day!

Ask the people (and pets!) in your family how they like to express themselves?

We are continuing with Phase 4 of our Phonics learning.

If your child can recognise most of all the Phase 2/3 sounds and read the Phase 2 and 3 tricky words then they are ready for Phase 4.

If you feel that your child still needs more practise with Phase2/3 please re-visit the previous weeks learning and try some other games on the suggested websites on our front class page.

Alphabet Song | ABC Song | Phonics Song

This is the original Alphabet ABC Song by Have Fun Teaching.

Practise saying these consonant blends!

Kit and Sam have some tricky words for us to practise writing today.

You say this sentence and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words and sound out each word.

Put  the  cup  in  the  sink.

Challenge 1 - if your child can write this sentence easily add in some describing words e.g. Put the pink cup....

Challenge 2 - Can they write another sentence about the sink?

I am beginning to understand number bonds.

I can say how many are missing.

Number bonds to 5 with Numicon Adding to 5 Making 5 Numicon 1

Here is another way we are going to learn about number bonds for 5. Read the challenge on each slide carefully.

Challenge 1 - Write subtraction number sentences for each of the slides.

Challenge 2 - Write the missing number in the following subtraction number sentences

5  -  ?  =  1

5  -  ?  =  2

5  -  ?  =  3

5  -  ?  =  4

5  -  ?  =  5

I can talk about similarities, differences and how things change over time.

How Toys move - Talk with your child about their ideas on how some of these toys move. Do they have similar toys? Do the recognise and talk about the differences of old and new toys? Pause the slideshow as you need to for discussion.

I can use my phonics to write a sentence.

Look carefully and  draw one of your toys.

Write a sentence about what it is and how it moves.

I can follow instructions to make meaningful marks.
