Challenge of the day!

Draw an outfit you would wear for the summer.

Daily Phonics lesson:

We are now going to move onto Phase 5 in Phonics. In this phase the children learn that the same sound can be made with different letters -  ai/ay.  But we will still be practising and consolidating the previous phases. If you feel your child still needs more practise at Phase 4 please use the previous lessons, the resources in their Home Learning Book and the phonics programm on Espresso and Twinkl .

Remember - Practise makes Better!!

1.   Sing Jack Hartman ABC song - Youtube (or any other!)

Sing vowel song (ask your child to teach it to you!)

2.   Practise writing and spelling Phase 4 tricky words - were,  when,  what,  there,  out

Please work through the following powerpoint with your child. They should be able to read a lot of the story but will need you to help with the words in purple. Just reading it together is also fine smiley.

4.   Write this sentence. You read it out, sound out each word and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words! We can play in the sand tray.

Remember  - Start your sentence with a capital letter

                     Leave finger spaces

End your sentence with a full stop.

                     Read your sentence

Well done! yes

Use some different coloured playdough to make a beautiful buterfly with a symmetrical pattern. The pattern must be the same on both sides. If you don't have any playdough, draw/paint or collage  or draw one on a computer!
