Life in all its fullness

Friday 1st October

This week’s phonemes

                      g     o    c     k

Please practise hearing these sounds at the beginning, the middle or end of words:

igloo  cop  sag    cook    tikit   sag  dig

bag   not    dog   mug     peg

Read these words. Sound out each letter and then blend them together.

c-o-t     k-i-t    n-o-t   m-o-p    c-a-n

Tricky words.

These are look and say words. They cannot be sounded out!

Please help your child to remember these tricky words by sight:

I        the      to

no       go    into

Please read this book with your child. It contains all the phonemes which we have learnt so far. Encourage your child to sound out the words and not to guess at them. Happy Reading!

Maths - Sock matching

We have done lots of sorting activities at school. Have a go at this sock sorting one at home. This useful Practical Life activity teaches children about visual discrimination, matching, care of self, and assists with the development of fine motor skills. See if they can fold them as well!
