Good afternoon. It's FRIDAYYYY!!!! Which means homework!
Just kidding, I think you all deserve a well-earned rest this weekend.
I am so pleased with how well you are all coping. I know lots of you have been helping younger brothers and sisters with their learning as well as completing your own tasks. It's been great to see that on all the pictures you've sent in their has been a balance of Maths, English, outdoor activities and creative work. This is fantastic to see and I hope that continues next week, though the weather is not going to be as nice. I'll make sure I set lots of indoor fun afternoon activities for you to choose from instead.
Well done and thank you to the adults who are looking after you too - we are all having to get used to new routines and they are doing a super job to support you as well as continuing with their other roles.
I'll clear these web pages over the weekend so please take anything from it that you need. I will leave the pictures tab though and next week I'll add a new slideshow.
Have a great weekend, stay safe, and come back Monday morning to hear from me again.
Morning all for the 2nd time today,
I just completed the Joe Wicks workout I hope you did too. I'm about to add the proof to our photos page! Well done to all of you who are having a go too - especially all the parents who are joining in too.
See you at 10.30 for our meditation class! I'll upload my writing shortly after :)
Also, thank to Leighton and his mum for sending an update - it's great to see you and Layla-Mai working hard. I love the tower! I think you might inspire some more builds with that. He's also been gardening - I think this is the last day of the warmer weather so make sure you get outside and enjoy it this afternoon when you've done the Maths and English.
Emily also sent an email last night - her rocket drawing is amazing and she will be sending her maths story later. I have decided to add a 'photos' tab to our week so that there is a place for our photos. that way, they won't get deleted at the end of the week.
Have a great day, Miss Wood
David Walliams is reading a story a day. I know lots of you have been listening already but thought I'd share in case some of you hadn't heard.
Today's maths answers (sorry that I can't do the proper 'squared' symbol):
1) Area = 54cm2 Perimeter 32cm
2) Area = 58cm2 Perimeter 34cm
3) Area = 48cm2 Perimeter 30cm
4) Area = 66cm2 Perimeter 42cm
For English today, I'd like you to take part in the Litfilm fest meditations class.
After this, I am going to write my own meditation and I'd like you to do the same. I hope this will be a calm way to end the week.
Effective descriptive language is the key
e.g. Instead of - Lie down on the beach.....From standing, you can feel the warm grains of sand between your feet - wiggle them slightly and imagine the tiny grains trickling between your toes. Slowly lower yourself onto the soft surface and feel the sand beneath you mould to the shape of your body....
the video goes live at 10.30am and you'll be able to access it any time after this on their channel
