Life in all its fullness

Firday 22nd January

Hello everyone!

Well done for another super week of on-line learning!

You have been amazing!!

Have a great weekend!

Challenge of the day!

Design a car of the future.

We are now starting Phase 4 of our Phonics learning.

If your child can recognise most of all the Phase 2/3 sounds and read the Phase 2 and 3 tricky words then they are ready for Phase 4.

If you feel that your child still needs more practise with Phase2/3 please re-visit the previous weeks learning and try some other games on the suggested websites on our front class page.

Play this Phonics Play game to practise Phase 3 phonemes. Remember you can also choose Phase 2 if you need a bit more practise!
Practise reading Phase 3  tricky words.

Kit, Sam and Cousin Mist will help you to practise your phonemes, tricky words, final consonant blends and to read sentences.

Phoneme frame

Read the words and write them under the correct picture. Write one letter in each square. No need to print the page - you can draw your own phoneme frame!

vest, nest, lift, text, dust, wept, loft, next, fact

You say this sentence and your child writes it down. Look out for tricky words and sound out each word.

We  are  in  the  loft.

Challenge 1 - if your child can write this sentence easily add in some describing words.

Challenge 2 - Can they write another sentence about the loft?

5 Little Snowmen Standing in a Row | Snowman Songs for Children | Lyric Video | The Kiboomers

This is a great song to introduce the concept of taking away. Use your fingers to show how many as you are watching. Watch the video then have a go at doing some practical subtraction with some of your toys or other objects.

Challenge - Can you record a simple subtraction number sentence:                        5 - 1 = 4

4 - 1 = 3

3 - 1 = 2

2 - 1 = 1

I can complete a simple program on a computer.

Have fun following the guide to build 4 different snowmen.

I can use my phonics to write a simple sentence.

The Snowman

Enjoy reading this shortened version of Raymond Briggs The Snowman. Can you recognise any of the words in the text?

Now I would like you to think about what would happen if The Snowman came into your house. What do you think he would do? Would he look in your cupboards? Would he eat any of your food? Would he look in the fridge?

Draw a picture of what you think he would do.

Challenge - Write a sentence to say what he is doing in your picture.

I can talk about talk about acts of kindness and how they make us feel.

Be Kind | A Children's Story about things that matter

What exactly is kindness? What is it to be kind? Is it being helpful? Being polite? Does it have to be a big act to be more kind? Well maybe the smallest act can make a big difference.

What does being kind mean to you?

Draw a picture to show how you are going to be kind to a friend or someone you know.
