What do I do if I have a question?

Please email Miss Anderson on

Miss Anderson will get back to you as soon as she can. As a minimum, emails will be checked at 8.30am and 3.30pm daily and responses will be given within 24 hours. Currently, Miss Anderson is in school on Thursday and Friday and working from home Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

Where do I find learning for the day?

Learning will be posted on the class page ready for the start of each day. Children may then be directed to complete their work straight from a document posted on the website or to another provider. Largely, this will be Google classroom and MyMaths.

What will lessons look like?

In UKS2 we are keen to keep learning as close to 'normal' as possible as we hope older children will be able to cope with this independently therefore, we have kept the timetable quite busy.

We think it is important that children have a taught element to their lessons as much as possible and we will endeavour to do this alongside being in school to teach children of key workers. Due to this, Y5 lessons will be taught by Miss Anderson, Miss Wood or an online provider.

Where does my child record their learning?

Any work where answer sheets or videos are provided (e.g. maths/grammar lessons) can be completed on your child's preferred format. E.g. pen and paper, whiteboard on a laptop. This work can be saved for reference but doesn't need to be sent to school.

Most writing lessons and some topic sessions will be set on Google Classrooms so that work can be submitted and marked.

If you require an exercise book for your child to use, school can provide this.

What about live lessons?

We understand children learning from home, especially those with siblings, will not always be able to access 'live' learning. Therefore, we will be pre-recording lessons for children to access at a time that suits them.

However, we recognise the need to meet as a class and to retain a community feeling so we will be meeting once a week in small groups. These live sessions will take place via Google Classrooms and a link will be sent to you. Live sessions for Y5 will be scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 1.45 - 2.05pm. You will be able to see when your child's live session is scheduled in the google calendar. To access this, log into google classroom and click on Jade class. The click on the dots in the top right corner of the screen and open the calendar tab to see the live meeting.

How will I know my child is on track?

English and Maths subjects will be the priority for learning feedback. For most maths lessons video tutorials will be provided to guide children through the answers. Children will be able to self-mark all maths lessons.

Written English lessons will be marked online via Google Classrooms. Children will then be able to respond to these by correcting or editing as they would in school. This marking will be completed as soon as possible but please bear with us, especially on the days we are teaching full-time.
