St John's CE (VC) Primary School

Life in all its fullness

Below is a story starter for you.  Your task is to decide what happens next and to write it.  Take the story as far as you want to.  If you are not going to be in on Monday too, why not write a little of the story today and then continue it on Monday?

Plan it out first, and then lose yourself in your writing.  I'd love to see what you come up with so why not bring it in when you return to school?

I woke up with a start, something was in my room.  The wardrobe doors opened and it came out of my wardrobe.

Complete the Grammar Mat first and then work through the Was or Were sheet.  Copy the sentences out to practise your handwriting.

It's Wednesday, so that means it is comprehension day in class and for you at home.

In the document below are sentences with multiple errors.  Can you fix the sentences and copy them out so that they make perfect sense and have no spelling or punctuation errors?

Today's activity should help you with your spellings from our Spelling Log.  Your current spellings are: statement, development, entertainment, punishment, amazement, treatment, agreement and enjoyment

Put these words into sentences but add some interest to your sentences, don't just make them short.  Perhaps you could include some fronted adverbials in your sentences to practice last week's work.  Write two sentences for each word.
