We all know that some things are alive, and some things are NOT alive, but have you ever thought about what makes something alive or not alive? Living things are called organisms, and anything from a blue whale to a spot of mold can be a living organism! .There are 4 main criteria to denote if something is living or non-living - watch the video and then see if you can name them.

The video explains about the major differences between the living and non-living things.

The four main criteria are - living things need food, living things grow, living things react to change and living things reproduce.

Challenge - Now you have learnt a little bit about living and non-living things,  go around your house and outside and make a list of both the 'living' and 'non-living' things which you see. Or you can use the worksheet below.
