15th-19th March

Please find below a suggested timetable for this week's learning.

You will notice that phonics lessons are included on the timetable, but are not on the class page. This is due to the children currently working in small groups and focusing on specific skills to meet their needs. Mrs Cole will send you additional phonics work, via email, in line with your child's learning in school.

Adding lengths

Activity

Think back to our activity on Monday, where we practiced using a ruler to measure things inside our house! Today, I would like you to have lots of fun measuring and adding these items together, just like in the video. For example: You could measure a pencil (7cm) then add a paperclip (4cm) which equals 11cm! This is exactly what we are doing in school today- it is all about practice and having fun!

English

Learning Objective: I can explore problems that matter.

Now that we have created our story, we are going to be exploring in more detail the problem within it and really focusing on the character's thoughts, feelings and actions. Follow this link to get started...

Subtracting lengths

Activity

Today, our task is very similar to yesterday however we will be subtracting our objects! Think back to my example yesterday: a pencil is 7cm and a paperclip is 4cm. If we subtract the paperclip from the pencil that would give us the sum 7 - 4 = 3. So our answer would be 3cm! Again, today is all about practice. What objects can you measure and subtract in your home?

Learning Objective: I can improve my stability for balance and control.

Today's lesson is all about improving our stability by using our muscles for balance and control when walking and running. Follow this link to 'Oak Academy', watch the video and complete the tasks!
