Welcome to Y5!
A warm welcome to our class.
The class teacher is Mr Jewitt and the Teaching Assistant is Mrs Leese.
Our final topic of the year is all about trees, woodlands and forests and the animals that call them home. We will be finding out about parts of a tree (not as simple as you may think), about the reproduction of trees and plants and about the devastation of our beautiful rainforests.
Tuesday 21st May - Sports Day
Thursday 23rd May - Team building Day
PE will take place on a Thursday afternoon whilst we visit Keele Sports Centre. Please ensure your child has both indoor and outdoor kit and a water bottle.
Spellings are tested within a week of them being handed out. Sometimes this may be a Thursday, sometimes a Tuesday, so you better get practising immediately.
Homework is given out on Thursdays and is to be handed in by the following Wednesday morning. Please check MyMaths.co.uk regularly for updated homework - you can also use this to support your child's learning even when homework isn't set. Some of the topics will also have a research task attached to them, where the pupil will have a number of weeks to complete the task.
Guitar lessons are on Tuesday; Orchestra is on Wednesday; Drums are on Thursday; Violin and flute is on Friday.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school every day.
